Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Resicheq ("we", "us", "our") is operated by Egocolors Limited. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our tax residency tracking application (the "Service"), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Account information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address
• Display name (optional)
• Authentication identifiers from Google Sign-In (if used)
• Password (stored as a hash by Firebase Authentication; we never see your plain text password)

2.2 Travel and stay data

To provide tax residency calculations, we collect data you enter or that the app captures:

• Countries and cities you visit
• Arrival and departure dates
• Stay categorization (regular stay, exemption, transit, etc.)
• Notes and tags you attach to a stay

2.3 Location data (optional)

If you enable the GPS auto-capture feature, we use your device's location services to automatically determine the country you are currently in. Location data is processed only when you actively trigger the feature (foreground) or when you have granted "always" permission for background recording. You can disable location features at any time in your device settings.

2.4 Wallet addresses (optional)

If you connect a Solana wallet via Phantom, we store your public wallet address for the purpose of the rewards/referral system. We never request or store your private keys or seed phrases.

2.5 Technical and usage data

• Device type, operating system, and browser
• App version and language preference
• Crash and error reports (anonymized where possible)
• Approximate access times

3. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Calculate your day counts per country and tax residency status
• Generate PDF and CSV reports at your request
• Synchronize your data across your devices
• Send you notifications (if enabled), such as 183-day threshold alerts
• Operate the referral and rewards program
• Diagnose problems and improve the Service
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with our legal obligations

4. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Analytics) to host and synchronize your data. Firebase processes data on Google Cloud infrastructure in the asia-northeast1 (Tokyo) region. See Firebase Privacy and Security.
• Legal compliance: If we are required by law, valid court order, or regulatory request to disclose information.
• Business transfer: If Resicheq or Egocolors Limited is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change.

5. Storage and security

Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Firebase/Google Cloud default encryption). Authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication. We follow industry-standard security practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Data retention

We retain your account and travel data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we are legally required to retain certain information (e.g., transaction logs, fraud prevention records).

7. Your rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under GDPR and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Export your data in a portable format (the in-app CSV export feature provides this)
• Object to or restrict certain processing
• Withdraw consent for processing where consent is the legal basis
• Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority

8. International data transfers

Your data is stored on Google Cloud servers in Tokyo, Japan. If you access the Service from outside Japan, your data will be transferred to and processed in Japan. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer.

9. Children

Resicheq is not intended for users under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in the app and on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
